I really liked the story about the woman with the last name Lien? Daughter of Sam Kahanamoku… Which should have been her name, after her father Sam, brother of Duke Kahanamoku…she should change her name to her fathers name to finalize the healing process…such a beautiful story…and again…foreign women love our men, that is credit to who we are and on a boat? How romantic…cannot wait to read her book. Thanks for sharing that and all the stories in…Indian Country…my grandmother toured the US after working at Pearl Harbor and retired…we have always had a closeness to them because they had similar issues but different…they were brown and red like some of us…I love them.
Wow! I have to say, very precise! Down to the hammer! No “occupation propaganda” words or sentences inserted! Exactly precise! Although, there is one mistake I noticed. Do correct me if I’m wrong, but the article cited that insurgent Lorrin Thurston was American.
(Instead, American insurgent Lorrin Thurston, who would have been tried for treason in Hawai‘i……) He is actually Hawaiian by birth. He was born in the HK. But that’s okay! Nothing much to get a twist on compare to everything else! And besides, even if he was American, he would still be tried for treason under the HK Laws, which states that everyone abides by the HK’s Laws regardless of being a Hawaiian subject or a foreign resident! Only exception is for foreign diplomats.
