Washington Times: Agency seeks clarity on Hawaiian Kingdom status

HONOLULU (AP) – Office of Hawaiian Affairs CEO Kamanaopono Crabbe says he will seek approval from the agency’s trustees to refrain from pursuing a Native Hawaiian governing entity.

Crabbe says the agency would put nation building efforts on hold until officials are able to confirm the Hawaiian Kingdom doesn’t continue to exist under international law.

Crabbe outlined his proposal in a May 5 letter to Secretary of State John Kerry. The agency released a copy of the letter Friday.

The letter says an analysis from scholars alleging federal and state governments are illegal regimes has raised concerns. The analysis says OHA trustees and Native Hawaiian Roll Commission members may be criminally liable under international law.

Crabbe is asking the State Department to request an opinion from the Justice Department’s Office of Legal Counsel.

  1. This is amazing — USA is being called to the carpet within it’s own country? Halleluiah! The light is getting brighter and brighter at the end of the tunnel.

    • And I have hope for others as well to see the light! Dr. Crabbe certainly has seen it! Therefore, he not only asked the right questions, but he also did the right thinking as well–by not sending it to any of the occupation’s judiciary or the illegal regime government itself because we know they’ll throw it in the rubbish can just like what the courts are doing in occupied Hawaii: Denying the overwhelming evidence that Hawaii is occupied in favor of a party that cannot refute it otherwise! Therefore, providing a unfair trial–a War Crime!

Instead, Dr. Crabbe went straight to the heart of the Occupying Power itself! Above all, he sent this letter along with evidence to the U.S. Department of State asking Secretary of State John Kerry if the H.K. still exist! So therefore, is Hawaii a part of the United States??? THAT SHOULD GET INTERESTING!! Considering Secretary Kerry, along with MR. Obama’s, continued protest against Russia for violating Ukraine sovereign territory……

      Lets see what happens!

  2. Best buck spent by OHA! (Wow, never thought I’d
    hear that come from me)

If the U.S. remembers what they told Russia a few
weeks ago about violating international law they
should have no problem answering the question!

    Ku’e I ka hewa!

  3. Aloha kakou.
This OHA request opens up a can of worms, it is heartening it is being reported in the media, the more so the better.

Author Jon D. Olsen in his new 2014 book “Liberate Hawai’i” made this very point on page 156:

‘Sovereignty needs to become a major theme of every possible newspaper and magazine in Hawai’i and about Hawai’i. Of course, this immediately brings the sovereignty movement into direct conflict with current owners of these media, as well as television. We have seen in the U.S. and in other countries how the owners of the mass media can warp the political life of a country to the far-political right, consistent with their class interest of maintaining control over the resources of a country and even the thinking of its citizens. The media are not neutral. Accordingly, it is essential for sovereignty supporters to either develop their own mass media or to find a way to “liberate” existing media from mass control.’

    …..E ‘Onipa’a!
