  1. Awesome interview! Especially on the part of our national ensign–that was a good refresher! I forgot that our first national flag was the Union Jack canton with the red banner. Eventually replaced with the red, white, and blue from top to bottom stripes, then the present day national ensign of May of 1845. Very good!

I love our national flag. Hate the so-called green, yellow, and red flag (destroyed mines a long time ago). All made up nonsense, but an example of how much extreme damage has been done on the Hawaiian national psyche. Every time I see our national ensign flying at top mast alone, I stop and salute it briefly.

I will never endorse our national ensign to be changed after occupation. It is designed like that for powerful reasons and it culturally represents the foundation of this aina! And this is coming from a kid whos friends wear the so-called fake “Hawaiian flag” colored green, red, and yellow.

“How can you say you Hawaiian when you know that flag is made up?”

The Union Jack with 8 Stipes forever!
