  1. Lovely! I always loved our British history, which is why I never want the Union Jack removed from the national ensign. That symbolizes the birth of this nation.

  2. While it was disappointing that Britain chose to not help Queen Liliu’okalani when she requested their aid, as Iolani said, they WERE instrumental in seeding Hawaiian Kingdom’s sovereign Nation State status.
Kudos to Oxford University Press for publishing in 2024 “Unconquered States: Non-European Powers in the Imperial Age” that included Dr. Keanu Sai’s chapter “Hawai‘i’s Sovereignty and Survival in the Age of Empire” detailing how Hawaiian Kingdom was never legally conquered under international law & remains the longest ongoing occupation in modern history!
The tide of JUSTICE continues to slowly hit our shorelines ever so gently, and covertly. Looking forward to some monster waves rolling in soooon! 🌊🌊🌊
P.s. Hope the exhibit (& the one that was in DC) makes its rounds to the islands to seed much pride in locals!
