{"id":6989,"date":"2024-04-12T07:54:31","date_gmt":"2024-04-12T17:54:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/hawaiiankingdom.org\/blog\/?p=6989"},"modified":"2024-04-12T07:54:32","modified_gmt":"2024-04-12T17:54:32","slug":"dr-keanu-sai-receives-an-award-from-the-royal-order-of-kamehameha-i","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/hawaiiankingdom.org\/blog\/dr-keanu-sai-receives-an-award-from-the-royal-order-of-kamehameha-i\/","title":{"rendered":"Dr. Keanu Sai Receives an Award from the Royal Order of Kamehameha I"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>At a ceremony yesterday at <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/daughtersofhawaii.org\/hulihee-palace\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Hulihe\u2018e Palace<\/a><\/strong> in Kona, Island of Hawai\u2018i, Dr. Keanu Sai received an award from the Royal Order of Kamehameha I for &#8220;unwavering commitment to reactivate the Hawaiian Kingdom Government and rectify over a century of unlawful occupation.&#8221; Presenting the award was Ali\u2018i \u2018Aimoku Alika Desha.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"660\" height=\"440\" src=\"https:\/\/hawaiiankingdom.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/Order-of-Kamehameha-Award.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-6991\" srcset=\"https:\/\/hawaiiankingdom.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/Order-of-Kamehameha-Award.jpeg 660w, https:\/\/hawaiiankingdom.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/Order-of-Kamehameha-Award-450x300.jpeg 450w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 660px) 100vw, 660px\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>On April 15, 1927, Ali\u2018i \u2018Aimoku John C. Lane wrote in the Honolulu Advertiser under the title &#8220;Kamehameha Order Marks 25 Years of Growth With Convention Beginning Today&#8221;:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>On or about May 13, 1902, there met in the old &#8220;Foster hall&#8221; a group of prominent Hawaiians, and there discussed the establishing  of a fraternal organization among the Hawaiians. Present at the meeting were George H. Huddy, James H. Boyd, Abraham Fernandez, Charles H. Rose, William H. Coney, John H. Wise, Rev. J.M. Ezera, David K. Ainoa, Johh K. Nakookoo, and others.
