Campbell sent a communication to Dr. David Keanu Sai, Chairman of the Council of Regency and Petitioner for an extension to respond to the <a href=\"https:\/\/hawaiiankingdom.org\/blog\/hawaiian-kingdom-files-lawsuit-against-president-trump-in-washington-d-c\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Emergency Petition for Writ of Mandamus<\/a> filed with the United States District Court for the District of Columbia.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">&#8220;Sir:\u00a0 I will be requesting a 30-day extension of time, to and through, October \u00a010, 2018, to Answer or otherwise respond to your complaint.\u00a0 Please inform me of your position.\u00a0 Thank you.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Sai responded later that day:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">&#8220;Ma&#8217;am: Notwithstanding the emergency nature of the petition for writ of mandamus, I am agreeable to your request.&#8221;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>On August 29, 2018, Assistant United States Attorney for the District of Columbia Rhonda L.
