NEA Teachers Union Published Second Article on the American Occupation of Hawai‘i

As part of a three part series the National Education Association (NEA) has published a second article on the American occupation of Hawai‘i. The NEA is the largest labor union in the United States comprised of public school teachers, administrators, and faculty and administrators of universities. This second of three articles is titled “The U.S. Occupation of the Hawaiian Kingdom.”
The NEA’s article stems from a resolution that was passed by its delegates who met at their annual convention in 2017 in Boston, Massachusetts.

The resolution was introduced by the delegates of the Hawai‘i State Teachers Association, which is an affiliate labor union of the NEA, and it passed on July 4, 2017. The resolution was referred to as New Business Item 37, which stated:

“The NEA will publish an article that documents the illegal overthrow of the Hawaiian Monarchy in 1893, the prolonged occupation of the United States in the Hawaiian Kingdom and the harmful effects that this occupation has had on the Hawaiian people and resources of the land.”

  1. 1. I’m wondering as to what possible financial refund by those who have collected taxes to those who have paid such taxes illegally gained?

    2. In the area or arena of Land / Real Property Illegally taken away from Native Hawaiian’s (Kanaka Maoli) what mechanism will these Lands / Real Property be returned?

    3. By what method will the U.S. Military Industrial Complex release properties that have been used in the name of National Security to include and not limited to U.S. Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine, Coast Guard, and National Guard Facilities, and Rest and Recuperation sites with Golf Courses as well?

  2. Good! This will, no doubt bring on discussions regarding Hawaiian people being better off where they were, ‘if it wasn’t for the USA, Hawaiians wouldn’t have this and that, etc. Be informed. Cool head, main thing.

  3. We need more people and organizations like these that honor their words. Now only if those in gov’t would honor their oaths of office and comply with the Treaties which are the Supreme Laws they swore to uphold. Don’t they realize that actions like these by Hawaii’s delegates of the NEA are increasing the exposure of Hawaii’s illegal occupation. As the exposure of Hawaii’s occupation increases the exposure of their dishonor and crimes also increases.

  4. Whoever believes in the USA….REMEMBER….and be TRUTHFUL, what the USA government and the military did in 1893….REMOVING our Queen Liliuokalani from office Illegally/Unlawfully…and, citizenship …gave her Hawaiian people an IDENTITY that is FAKE and brain washed our EDUCATION!!!!!!

  5. As the future is yet to unfold. Be strong by first making things right. We as humans will survive. Bringing new life to the future generations and in the right direction.
